Join Our Volunteers

There are lots of ways to help us make a difference to people living with our conditions. Whether you have five hours or five minutes, we would love to hear from you!

Across Scotland thousands of volunteers are making an incredible difference to people in their communities with chest, heart and stroke conditions and Long Covid. Volunteers support people with our conditions, volunteer in our shops, raise funds at our events, take part in actions to raise awareness, and much more.

We are committed to offering you an opportunity that recognises your unique skills and experiences, fits around your time commitment, and meets your motivation for volunteering – whether that’s meeting new people, having fun, developing new skills, or gifting the skills you already have.

Check out the many ways you can get involved by following the links below. We can’t wait to welcome you to the team!

“Volunteering is so worth it for your mental health and for your soul”

Just ask Lynn

Stroke survivor Lynn says volunteering for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland over the past year has transformed her life.

A member of a stroke support group in Glasgow, Lynn realised she was getting as much from talking to volunteers as she was chatting to fellow stroke survivors. She decided to take the plunge and become a volunteer herself.

“What I enjoy most about volunteering is giving something back. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland has done so much for me personally that I want to repay that. I hear and see the appreciation and happiness in the voices of the people I’m speaking to.

“Volunteering is so worth it for your mental health and for your soul. It’s good soul food. Volunteering resonates and sends ripples of positivity throughout everyone involved.”
